Sefton Children’s Trust

Providing support and positive experiences to young people and families in Sefton

Who are we?

Sefton Children's Trust has been around since 1984. There are no paid staff, only volunteers who generously give up their time year after year. We have camp volunteers, bid writers, activity volunteers and a committee who are dedicated to giving young people from Sefton opportunities that they wouldn't otherwise have.

Get Involved

There are many ways for you to get involved in our charity and have the opportunity of making a difference in young peoples lives. From volunteering on our Summer camp, to fundraising at home.

Referrals

If you know a family with a young person who would benefit from our help, please get in touch to refer them. We are looking for families who are struggling financially or young people who are experiencing difficulties in their every day lives.

Our Summer Camp

Our main activity is a week long activity holiday in the Summer holidays. During our summer camp, the young people have the opportunity to take part in activities such as rock climbing, kayaking, high ropes and much more. These activities push them to face their fears and grow their confidence. The social aspect of the holiday also has a huge impact, allowing them to form new friendships and build positive relationships with team leaders.

Further Support

We aim to help families at times when people are most likely to struggle. For example at Christmas we raise funds to allow us to provide families in need with Christmas food hampers and toys for their children. We host a Christmas day out where we take our families to the cinema to see one of the latest films and then to a restaurant for dinner afterwards. At Easter we endeavour to provide Easter eggs and hampers to minimise the financial difficulties that these holidays put on families.
